SIMULTANEOUS ELECTIONS- A FAR-REACHING POLL REFORM
.Taxpayers' hard-earned money in millions, perennially goes down the drain without serving any productive purpose for them in funding and financing year-round back to back elections- by polls and/or mid-term polls for Parliament and various State Assemblies- besides the Five-yearly General elections for Parliament and various State Assemblies on different dates in the name of democracy, which is neither egalitarian nor truly representative in character. On the contrary, besides being enormously costly, ours is an extremely flawed, faulty and defective democracy. Millions of man-hours are wasted in electioneering serving no useful purpose at all. Precious time of eminent leaders which otherwise could have been gainfully utilized for policy-planning and implementation in the best national interests, is also recklessly wasted in electioneering, and other unproductive activities relating to year-round back to back elections. While one or the other political party wins or loses the election, the humble tax-payer of the country is the real, permanent and all-around loser all the way for no fault of his. The wily politicians have forced him to believe that these tamashas, as are being enacted endlessly by them in the name of democracy, though quite expensive and unnecessary, are good for his health and well-being. To start with, and to put a rein on these hugely expensive galloping nuisances, the following measures may be considered for immediate implementation:
