SIMULTANEOUS ELECTIONS- A FAR-REACHING POLL REFORM

I unreservedly support the idea of holding simultaneous elections.

.Taxpayers' hard-earned money [G1] in millions, perennially goes down the drain without serving any productive purpose for them in funding and financing year-round back to back elections- by polls and/or mid-term polls for Parliament and various State Assemblies- besides the Five-yearly General elections for Parliament and various State Assemblies on different dates in the name of democracy, which is neither egalitarian nor truly representative in character. On the contrary, besides being enormously costly, ours is an extremely flawed, faulty and defective democracy. Millions of man-hours are wasted in electioneering serving no useful purpose at all. Precious time of eminent leaders which otherwise could have been gainfully utilized for policy-planning and implementation in the best national interests, is also recklessly wasted in electioneering, and other unproductive activities relating to year-round back to back elections. While one or the other political party wins or loses the [G2] election, the humble tax-payer of the country is the real, permanent and all-around[G3]  loser all the way for no fault of his. The wily politicians have forced him to believe that these tamashas, as are being enacted endlessly by them in the name of democracy, though quite expensive and unnecessary, are good for his health and well-being. To start with, and to put a rein on these hugely expensive galloping nuisances, the following measures may be considered for immediate implementation:

1. Conduct of simultaneous Five-Year term elections simultaneously and concurrently for Lok Sabha and all the State Assemblies, Union Territories once in five years, as has been emphasized by the Hon'ble Prime Minister also. In the event of Parliament or any State Assembly dissolving midway, President's rule for the rest of the term may be imposed.,

2. No pre or post-poll [G4] Gadbandhans among political parties should be allowed or recognized as legal or legitimate by the Election Commission. Parties wishing to come together may, however, merge with each other- totally and finally- by losing forthwith their individual identity to emerge as one single political unit for all intent and purposes for all times to come.

3. No two individuals from the same family or blood relationship should concurrently be allowed to hold political posts[G5]  or positions in governments,- Centre or the State. 

4. Take every conceivable measure to annihilate the diabolical   VIP culture,- a diabolical British-legacy responsible for inculcating slave-mentality in the non-VIP citizens.

5. A politician should strictly have only one term tenure in a political post or office, immediately at the end of that one term; he must join the rank of commoners. No more any perk, privilege, or official residence etc. from the Government for him or his family.

Other such measures may follow to ensure that a so-called VIP or 'Mananiya' does NOT remain so even for a single day on demitting office immediately after a strictly fixed term or before that, as the case may be.

With above measures implemented, the tax-burden and liability of the ordinary tax-payer is sure to cut down to at least a quarter of his current such liability, and as such, his genuine peeve against elections, electioneering, and VIP culture should be considered seriously and redressed forthwith.
